Josephine Cook Hadlock Mrs. Josephine Cook Hadlock, age 91, of Kennett Square, PA, died on Friday, February 13, 2004 at her home. Mrs. Hadlock was born in San Antonio, TX on October 19, 1912, daughter of the late Adeline Bassett Cook and the late Right Reverend Philip Cook, former bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Wilmington.

A 1933 graduate of Vassar College, she taught at the Tatnall School in Wilmington for 12 years until her retirement in 1965. Mrs. Hadlock was a member of Christ Church, Christiana Hundred and the Vassar Club of Delaware. Her beloved husband, Canfield Hadlock, died in 1993.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Harriett Rice; 2 brothers, Philip Cook, Jr. and George Cook; and 2 sisters, Harriett Cook and Phyllis Cook.

She is survived by 3 children, Dr. Daniel C. Hadlock of Temple, TX, Nancy Rusk of San Diego, CA and Josephine Hadlock-King of Bellevue, WA; a brother, John Cook of Falmouth, MA; a sister, Adeline Strange of Wilmington; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Friday, February 20, 2004, at The Episcopal Church of the Advent, 401 N. Union Street, Kennett Square, PA. Interment will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice Program at Neighborhood Visiting Nurse Association, 795 E.
